We come to your boat, look at the work, and explain what we see. We describe what the repair or service involves, answer your questions, and give you an estimate before any work starts. Nothing begins without your approval.

Do I need to do anything to prepare before you arrive?

Just make the boat accessible. If possible, have the boat cleaned up so we can see the area clearly. For bottom paint work, the boat should be out of the water. We will discuss any specific prep requirements when we schedule the appointment.

What is the difference between gelcoat and paint on a boat?

Gelcoat is the factory-applied outer skin of a fiberglass boat. It is a thick, pigmented polyester resin built into the laminate during manufacturing. Paint is applied as a topcoat over existing surfaces. Most fiberglass boats above the waterline are gelcoat, not paint. Gelcoat can be repaired and matched directly.
