What We Do

Professional Boat Detailing at Our Shop

Boat detailing is the process of cleaning, restoring, and protecting a boat's surfaces. It goes beyond a simple wash to address oxidation, staining, water spots, and surface wear that builds up over time. A thorough detail maintains the value of your boat and protects the gelcoat from UV damage and marine growth.

Bring your boat to our Holiday, FL shop for a full detail, from a basic wash and wax to compound, buff, and interior work. We also offer mobile service throughout Pasco, Hernando, and Pinellas counties if you prefer us to come to your dock or driveway. All work is done by Lazaro or Eddie personally.

How It Works

Our Detailing Process

01

Assessment

We walk the boat with you and assess the condition of gelcoat, surfaces, and any specific concerns before we start.

02

Wash & Prep

Full hull and deck wash, waterline cleaning, and prep work to remove loose contaminants before compounding.

03

Compound & Polish

Machine compound removes oxidation and surface scratches. We follow with a polish to restore clarity and gloss.

04

Protection & Finish

Wax or sealant is applied to protect the finish. Interior, non-skid, and glass are cleaned and dressed.

Why Regular Boat Detailing Matters

Florida's sun, salt, and humidity are hard on boats. UV exposure degrades gelcoat faster here than almost anywhere in the country. Salt air and water leave behind mineral deposits and accelerate corrosion. Skipping regular maintenance means more expensive repairs down the road.

A properly waxed hull is easier to clean, more resistant to staining, and holds its value better. Compound and buff work done on schedule prevents the oxidation from penetrating deep enough to require professional gelcoat restoration. Regular teak care prevents cracking and rot.

Detailing Questions

What does a boat detail include?
A full boat detail includes exterior wash, compound and buff to remove oxidation and scratches, wax or sealant application, hull cleaning, interior cleaning, non-skid surface restoration, and glass cleaning. Additional services like teak maintenance or metal polishing are available as needed.
How often should I have my boat detailed?
For most boat owners in Florida, a full detail once or twice a year is a good baseline. Boats used frequently, kept in saltwater, or stored outdoors in direct sun may benefit from more frequent attention. Regular washing in between details extends the life of the wax protection.
Can you remove oxidation from a fiberglass boat?
Yes. Oxidation is one of the most common cosmetic problems on Florida boats due to sun exposure. We use a compound and buffing process to cut through the oxidized layer and restore the gloss. Heavily oxidized surfaces may require multiple passes but in most cases we can bring back significant shine.
Can I bring my boat to your shop for detailing?
Yes. Most detailing is done at our Holiday, FL shop, where we have everything set up for a thorough job. We also offer mobile service to your dock, dry storage, driveway, or marina throughout Pasco, Hernando, and Pinellas counties. For mobile work, all we need is reasonable access to the boat and a water source nearby.
Can you restore non-skid surfaces?
Yes. Non-skid decking gets dirty and can become discolored or worn over time. We clean, treat, and restore non-skid surfaces as part of our detailing services.
Do you work on teak?
Yes. We clean, sand, and seal teak decking and trim. Teak maintenance keeps the wood from going gray and cracking in the Florida sun.
